New Blog

I have been frustrated with xanga for quite awhile now. I can never get my portrait photos to post correctly, and the last straw has been all of this advertisement for the game Evony. Originally I wanted to use blogspot.com but couldn't get it to display in English when I was setting up my blog. Now all is good and I am able to switch over to a more user friendly site. So this will be my last post here. I will leave it up to redirect everyone to my new blog. I look forward to seeing all of you over at my new site.

Quick Update

Not much new news to write about. It's hot and I am not spending much time outside. The summer seems to be flying by. I can't believe it is less than a week before August and it won't be long before the teachers come back to school and then the students. I plan to continue working as long as I can before little Stephanie Elizabeth arrives.

We love the adventure we are living but there are things we can't wait to "give up." Over this last week the biggest frustration is all the money we pay in shipping things. I shouldn't complain because it is NOTHING in comparison to paying an international shipping cost (since it is considered stateside for us in cost), but truly there are those times when it really gets me in the gut. I have done hours of research on car seats and strollers and shipping it over here. I thought I found the best/least expensive way to go about it. Once everything was said and done it ended up being MUCH more expensive, half the cost of the products itself - just in shipping cost. I was livid and still am. Not anything I can do about it now, but it makes me sick.

Anyway, Steve just got home and I really want to go make cookies so I am going to end this post. Love you all.

Only three months...REALLY???

Okay, I think reality really hasn't set in for us yet. We are almost to month six of this pregnancy and have yet to buy anything for our new addition or even read a parenting book. I truly hope this is not a foreshadow of our parenting skills :^/ I chalk it up to being so far away from family and no major changes to our everyday life - besides a few new aches and pains, a growing belly and a little bit slower of pace wherever we walk.

Alright, so here is what we need. We have decided we should read at least one or two books on life with an infant so we at least have an idea of what is coming and how maybe to handle it :^) but we have no idea what books to read. If you have a good book to recommend we would be very appreciative. We would like something that is balanced and realistic.

We have had many good laughs at how unprepared we are. I just hope we are still laughing in four months :^)

Toyko - the New York City of Asia :^)

Steve's parents and youngest brother have been visiting for the last week and a half and their trip is coming to an end. We have accompanied them up to Tokyo for a few days in the city before they fly back to the States. Unfortunately for them, we will probably be monopolizing the meals with restaurants such as as The Hard Rock Cafe and TGI Fridays. It may seem ridiculous for us to spend our money and experience in such places, but take those places away from yourself for over two years and you too would do the same :^)

We have had a wonderful time, trying to fit in as much as possible in the days we had. Unfortunately we didn't get everything in that we wanted to, but they were able to have a taste of our lives on the other side of the world. Timing was perfect as well. Once we get back home Steve and I will have only a couple days of work before getting a long weekend...the vacation after the vacation everyone needs. Oh, and they all fell in love with Tilly, even Steve's dad - the least of dog lovers in the family :^)

So off to our adventures around town!

And It's...

A Girl!!!

And although I would normally never post ultrasound pictures, since we are unable to share them personally I regress to that which I would never do :^)
